Diagnostic

Common RV Body Damage

Body damage falls into a small set of categories. Some are mobile-fix, some need the shop, and many start as mobile estimates that route to the shop after assessment.

Scratch or Minor Cosmetic Damage

Surface scratches, paint chips, and minor dings. Mobile-fix when paint matching is not required; shop-fix when matching is needed for visible panels.

Dented or Damaged Body Panel

Single panel replacement is often mobile-fix on aluminum and Filon panels. Multi-panel damage moves to the shop.

Decal Faded or Peeling

Common after 5–10 years of UV exposure. Removal and replacement is mobile-fix; full RV decal repaint is shop-fix.

Sealant Failure Around Windows

Failed window butyl tape or exterior sealant lets water in. Reseal is mobile-fix; window removal and reinstall is mobile-fix for most windows.

Collision or Impact Damage

Any damage involving frame, structural sidewall, or multi-panel work moves to our Midvale UT or Hutto TX shop. On-site documentation for insurance is mobile-fix.

Fiberglass Crack or Damage

Fiberglass repair requires shop equipment for proper laminate work. Mobile assessment confirms scope before shop scheduling.

For collision damage, take photos before moving the RV. Mobile RV Pro can come on-site to document the damage for insurance and assess whether the repair is mobile-fix or shop-fix. Major structural damage may require the RV to remain in place until insurance authorizes movement — call before driving.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Some body work is mobile-fix: single siding panel replacement, minor scratch and dent repair, decal removal and replacement, sealant repair around windows. Collision repair, structural sidewall work, multi-panel damage, fiberglass repair, and paint matching require our Midvale, UT or Hutto, TX shop. The mobile technician assesses scope on-site and quotes accordingly — customers do not get bounced between vendors.
Collision repair pricing ranges from $2,500 to $15,000+ depending on damage extent. Most collision damage involves insurance — customer pays the deductible ($250–$1,000 typical) and the carrier pays the rest. Mobile RV Pro coordinates the insurance claim, meets the adjuster on-site or remotely, and handles direct billing where supported. Out-of-pocket collision repair (no insurance) is quoted on-site after shop assessment.
Comprehensive RV insurance policies typically cover hail damage to body, roof, and components. Customer pays the deductible, carrier pays the rest. Mobile RV Pro documents the damage on-site, files the claim with your carrier, and routes the repair to mobile or shop depending on damage scope. Insurance Claim Repair is a separate service page with full details on the claim process.
Yes. OEM replacement decals are available for most major RV brands; custom decals are produced when factory designs are unavailable. Mobile decal replacement runs $320–$920 per area depending on size and complexity. Full RV decal repaint is shop-only and runs $2,500–$8,000 — typically chosen when factory decals are no longer made or when the customer wants a custom design.
Filon is laminated fiberglass-reinforced plastic — the most common RV sidewall since the 2000s. Aluminum is older sheet metal siding, common on pre-2000s travel trailers. Fiberglass (gel-coat) is the hard, glossy surface on higher-end Class A coaches. Mobile work handles single Filon and aluminum panel replacement; fiberglass repair requires shop equipment for laminate and gel-coat work.
Most extended RV warranties exclude body work and cosmetic damage as coverage falls under the standard RV insurance policy instead. Manufacturing defects in sidewall delamination are sometimes covered. Mobile RV Pro coordinates insurance claims (separate from extended warranty) at no extra charge. Most body work is paid either through insurance (on damage claims) or out-of-pocket (on wear and aging items like decals).
