Common Claim Types

Common RV Insurance Claim Repairs

Most RV insurance claims fall into a small set of damage categories. Mobile repair handles most of them — hail damage, water intrusion, wind damage to awnings, theft and vandalism. Collision and major structural damage move to the shop.

Hail Damage to Roof and Body

Common after Texas spring storms and Utah summer hail. Roof membrane punctures, vent damage, and body panel dents are all claim-covered. Documentation requires photos of every damage point.

Water Intrusion from Storm Damage

Failed sealant or roof damage during a storm event is typically claim-covered, unlike maintenance-related leaks. Distinction requires documentation of the storm date and damage cause.

Wind-Damaged Awning

Wind damage to extended awnings is the most common claim type after hail. Mounting hardware, fabric, and adjacent sidewall damage are typically all covered under a single claim.

Theft or Vandalism

Broken locks, stolen components (catalytic converters, batteries, propane tanks), and graffiti are claim-covered. Police report is typically required.

Collision Damage

Minor cosmetic damage may be mobile-fix; major collision moves to our Midvale UT or Hutto TX shop for structural assessment and repair.

Fire or Smoke Damage

Galley fires, propane fires, and electrical fires require full structural assessment. Coordinated through shop with insurance carrier and adjuster.

If your RV has just been damaged, take photos before moving the RV or making any temporary repairs — the original damage state is what the adjuster will need to see. Mobile RV Pro can come on-site to document the damage and start the claim process at no extra charge if you have not yet filed.

How It Works

Claim Coordination Process

Insurance claim repair is a documentation and coordination process more than a repair process. Mobile RV Pro handles the documentation, claim filing, adjuster coordination, and repair — you pay your deductible.

Documentation and Filing

  • On-site damage assessment — photos, descriptions, and repair scope
  • Claim filing assistance — most carriers accept our diagnosis report
  • Adjuster coordination — we meet the adjuster on-site or remotely
  • Repair authorization — we get pre-authorization before starting work

Mobile Claim Repairs

  • Hail damage to roof — sealant, vent, AC, and skylight damage
  • Wind-damaged awnings — fabric, motor, mounting hardware
  • Theft and vandalism — locks, stolen components, graffiti removal
  • Minor cosmetic damage — scratches, dents, sealant damage

Shop Claim Repairs

  • Collision repair — Midvale UT or Hutto TX
  • Structural sidewall damage — major panel replacement
  • Fire and smoke damage — full assessment and remediation
  • Major roof damage — membrane and decking replacement after storm
Cost

What Does Insurance Claim Repair Cost?

On a covered claim, your out-of-pocket cost is the policy deductible — typically $250–$1,000 depending on your coverage. Mobile RV Pro does not charge an administrative fee for insurance coordination. Repair costs are billed to the carrier.

Repair TypeTypical Labor RangeNotes
Claim coordination administrative fee $0 No charge — included with every covered claim
On-site damage documentation $0 No charge if claim proceeds
Adjuster meeting on-site or remote $0 No charge
Customer out-of-pocket on covered claim Deductible only Typically $250–$1,000 per policy
Direct billing to insurance carrier Where supported Most major carriers
Standalone diagnostic (no claim) $270 – $360 If you choose not to file a claim

If damage falls below your deductible or you choose not to file a claim, Mobile RV Pro will quote out-of-pocket repair pricing as a standard service. Many customers compare deductible cost to repair cost and choose the lower of the two — we will provide the information needed to make that decision.

Certified & Guaranteed

Mobile RV Pro technicians are certified, background-checked, and carry full liability insurance. The company is licensed and insured to perform RV repair across Utah and Texas. If a technician damages any component while performing a hired repair, Mobile RV Pro covers the replacement 100% — both parts and labor.

Warranty Coordination

Mobile RV Pro is an authorized warranty coordinator for most major extended warranty providers including Good Sam, Wholesale Warranties, Cornerstone, and National General. We coordinate repairs and payment directly with extended warranty companies on your behalf — at no extra charge.

Direct Billing with Major Insurance Carriers

Mobile RV Pro works with all major RV insurance carriers including Progressive, Good Sam, National General, GEICO, Allstate, and State Farm. Direct billing is supported with most carriers — meaning the customer pays only the deductible and the carrier pays Mobile RV Pro directly. Without direct billing, customers pay out-of-pocket and chase reimbursement, which often takes 30–60 days. We handle the billing relationship at no extra charge.

Mobile vs. Dealership

Insurance Claim Coordination — Mobile vs. Dealership

Insurance claim coordination at a dealership is often slow because warranty and claim labor rates are below the dealer's standard shop rate. Mobile RV Pro handles claims at the same priority as cash work.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Mobile RV Pro works with all major RV insurance carriers including Progressive, Good Sam, National General, GEICO, Allstate, and State Farm. Most claims are filed and approved within 3–10 business days. Direct billing is supported with most carriers — meaning you pay only your deductible. Documentation, claim filing, and adjuster coordination are included at no extra charge.
On a covered claim, your out-of-pocket cost is the policy deductible — typically $250–$1,000 depending on your coverage. Mobile RV Pro does not charge an administrative fee for claim coordination. If damage falls below your deductible, we will tell you upfront so you can compare deductible cost to out-of-pocket repair cost. Many customers choose the lower of the two.
Depends on damage extent vs. deductible. Minor hail damage (a few small dents, no roof penetration) sometimes falls below the deductible. Major hail damage (roof punctures, multiple body panel dents, broken vents) typically far exceeds the deductible. Mobile RV Pro will document the damage on-site and provide both a claim estimate and an out-of-pocket repair estimate so you can compare. Filing a claim has no obligation to proceed.
Storm-related water damage (hail puncture, wind damage, roof damage during a named storm) is typically covered. Maintenance-related water damage (failed sealant from neglect, gradual roof deterioration) is typically not covered. The distinction comes down to documentation: the date of the storm event, photos of the original damage, and the inspection report. Mobile RV Pro documents the cause and event date as part of the claim filing.
Minor cosmetic collision damage — scratches, small dents, sealant damage — is mobile-fix. Major collision damage involving structural panels, fiberglass repair, frame work, or paint matching moves to our Midvale, UT or Hutto, TX shop. The mobile technician documents the damage on-site, files the claim, and routes the repair to the appropriate location. Customers do not get bounced between vendors.
Claim filing and pre-authorization typically take 3–10 business days. Once authorized, mobile repairs complete in 2–5 business days and shop repairs in 1–4 weeks depending on damage extent and parts availability. Total claim timeline from damage event to completed repair runs 2–8 weeks for most claims. Major collision and structural damage can run longer. Mobile RV Pro keeps the customer informed at every step.
